Sociopaths, psychopaths, and narcissists make up roughly 11% of the world’s population. That’s a lot, considering the fact that there are more than 7 billion people on Earth! These people have no feelings of remorse and empathy and suffer from serious personality disorders. This makes them highly ‘toxic’ for the environment, which is why you need to avoid them if possible.
Sadly, most of us will meet a narcissist, psychopath or sociopath at least once in our life. Luckily, after you meet one, you’ll learn more than a few signs about them that will help you recognize others in the future. The list below identifies 6 characteristic behaviors of sociopaths, psychopaths, and narcissists which will help you spot them easily and prevent all the damage they can do.
They Are Charming
Sociopaths, psychopaths, and narcissists are charming – there’s no question about it. They will flatter every new person they meet, sweet-talking them to heaven. They will even buy gifts and do favors for these people, which, although they will claim the opposite, are not free at all. There’s ALWAYS some kind of favor you’ll have to do for these people later, and you can be sure it won’t be anything pleasant.
They Work Hard to Maintain Their Social Image
These people are very dangerous – they will do anything (and we mean anything!) they can just in order to keep their social image and status untarnished. Narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths strive to present themselves as capable and polite and they surely are, at least on the surface. They have an image to maintain and will use all the ‘weapons’ at their disposal to keep it clean and proper.
They Lie and Never Apologize
Sociopaths, narcissists, and psychopaths lie often, if not all the time. They will never apologize for it, however – they just lack the remorse and empathy to do so. Even if you have evidence on them, these people will still deny everything – it’s just how they’re built.
When it comes to apologies, they might ‘lose a battle’ in order to win the war sometimes, but due to the complete absence of guilt, don’t expect them to say they’re sorry often. Because they’re not.
They’re Masters of Manipulation
All three types of people are master manipulators who will use everyone and everything in order to help themselves. They see each new person they meet as a new opportunity to fulfill their selfish ambitions and establish dominance over others. They’d like nothing more than to make you their little puppet.
They Love Playing the Victim
Psychopaths, narcissists, and sociopaths love to play the victim – it’s the role of their life. Even if they’re the ones that did something wrong, they will continue playing the victim so they can establish dominance over other people. Plus, they love playing this part.
They Suffer from a Superiority Complex
People suffering from the aforementioned personality disorders suffer from a superiority complex as well. They have no regards for anyone’s feelings and only think about their own selfish desires. They’re the emperors of the tiny universe in their mind and you can bet they’ll do anything to keep it so.
Sociopaths, narcissists, and psychopaths are very toxic (and sick!) people. These tips, however, should help you identify them pretty quickly so you can keep your distance and prevent them from destroying your mind and soul. If you suspect that someone from your family or group of friends falls into any of these 3 categories, stay away from them even if it hurts them. Don’t feel sorry for them – they will never feel sorry for you or your feelings.
